The Lindo Charitable Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization, registered in the state of Florida, whose purpose is to raise funds, materials, and services to assist organizations that cater to the blind and visually impaired; and to educate the public to understand the capabilities and needs of people who are blind or visually impaired so that they may be integrated into all aspects of community life. To assist financially where possible those that are unable to afford cataract or other vision related surgery. To provide resources to assist the blind and visually impaired in locating services to assist them in finding solutions for their conditions.
We provide assistance by staging events as well as utilizing social media channels and the corporation’s website to raise funds which we then distribute to other established organizations helping the blind and visually impaired. (e.g. The Lions Club and Schools for the Blind)
Our programs include sending out ambassadors to raise social consciousness about the cause on a local and global level, and to hold fundraising events in order to provide immediate relief and assistance to those suffering from blindness or visual impairments regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other profit, or non-profit organizations which fall under the 501(c) (3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated for charitable purposes.
Donations will be collected through the course of the year. At the end of which the funds will be donated to one or more charitable organizations on December 20th of the year
The Lindo Charitable Foundation Inc. is the brainchild of Guy (Tony) Lindo who himself was blinded by cataracts. Finding himself in this situation with no Insurance or means of paying for the surgery he needed, Guy turned to friends and family who were kind enough to donate some of the funds necessary to help him get the Cataract Surgery. During this period of his life Mr. Lindo discovered how few options existed to help people who were blind or needed the surgeries necessary to correct their conditions. He founded this Foundation to help others who may have found themselves in a similar situation.
